Young rugby star loses fight with leukemia | Peterborough Examiner

A shared story by Mike Davies in the Peterborough Examiner.

Young rugby star loses fight with leukemia | Peterborough Examiner.

Losses like this defy the normal process of life that we are accustom to.  Parents don’t bury their children.  Grandparents shouldn’t out live their grand kids.  Our children out live us to pass on to the world those things we hope they learn and in turn pass on to their own children.

The loss of this young lady is a tragic loss which echoes with every parent and one that should stay with each of us.  It should remain with us so that we don’t wait to until tragedy strikes our own family before we take action and make a difference.

Joining One match stem and marrow network is quick and painless; two words that cannot be used in association with the diseases it helps to battle. My ask is that all sports writers, athletes and fans follow the link below to add their names to the donor list.  Its an easy choice to make a difference.

About PTBOSportsScene

Husband, Father, Writer, Coach, Maker of Omelettes and Dissector of Couches. After working for over 10 years in sport, I decided to move my focus from calling for media coverage to doing the reporting. I’ve had the opportunity to work in a multitude of sports and loved every minute of it. Now is my chance to give exposure to those sports and activities that don’t always make the front of the sports page. On this blog you’ll find articles that I’ve done on some of Peterborough’s most interesting and lesser know sports in the area. It may even prompt you to try one.
